My name is John F O’Hare (people know me as John O) and I have 30 plus years’ experience working for some of the largest house builders in the country. I began as QS and through development and hard work became Commercial Director for Taylor Wimpey, Miller Homes, City Lofts, Robertson and Gleeson.

Finally, prior to deciding to work in my own consultancy I was Managing Director for Peter Ward Homes who are a fantastic developer based in Beverley.

The decision to start my own consultancy is based on the methodology and practices I have always tried to work within and that is honesty, hard work and fairness. This is particularly important in our dealings and relationships with subcontractors.

I am aiming to support subcontractors and provide them with procedures, systems and guidance all aimed at maximising control of cash flow and profitability. Developing and strengthening their relationships with the developers and offering a high quality service to both the site and office teams.

To the developers I can offer my skills and experience gained over the years where I have been fortunate to work on some diverse and exciting schemes. When I look back I am fortunate to have covered development from bungalows to 32 storey high rise residential towers. I have worked with people such as Wayne Hemingway on an award winning project in Gateshead and also delivered large numbers of private and social houses to the market. I can provide project or company support.

I’ve been fortunate to work with MMC and used systems such as ICF, Timber Frame and SIPS. I’ve seen the advantages and disadvantages. I have worked on project teams for Taylor Wimpey on MMC and also worked on roll out / design of Direct Labour policies including Apprentice recruitment.

Land viabilities including large scale infrastructure projects are also part of my experience, remediation schemes, even a railway bridge. Numerous large JV’s between the developers across a number of projects including land swaps and purchases.
